Information on coronavirus measures at Szent Istvan University
Szent Istvan University took precautionary measures in accordance with the rules of procedure issued by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and sent information on preventive hygiene regulations to staff and students in Hungarian and English regarding the spread of the coronavirus in January 2020.
The student of the University who is affected by the infection is a PhD student in Gödöllő. The doctoral student wanted to attend a conference to advance his education in Tehran on 23-24 February 2020, and started his journey on 20 February 2020. However, the conference wa cancelled due to the appearance of the coronavirus that was officially announced on 22 February 2020.
The PhD student returned from Iran on Friday, 28 February, 2020 and followed the instructions of the warnings sent by the University and visited Szent Laszlo Hospital where he indicated that he had come from an infected area. In addition, the supervisor of the doctoral student informed him that, in accordance with the University measures, he should not visit the institution for at least 14 days and his absence being considered as a certified absence.
The doctoral student acted accordingly and stayed in a voluntary quarantine in Budapest, and did not visit any university campuses, either in Gödöllő or in Budapest.
Szent István University has introduced stricter measures and sent information to staff and students again about complying with the regulations and adhering to the hygiene rules, for which the University continuously provides the necessary means.
The university events and conference attendances abroad has also been reconsidered. The University continuously monitors the Communications of the Operational Task Force and acts in accordance with them.
